Dear Whitefield Elementary School Parents,
Last spring I was nominated by a large, diverse selection team to become the new principal of the Whitefield Elementary School and I accepted the position with great enthusiasm and positive anticipation for the journey ahead. In July, I began at the school, meeting with staff, students, parents and community members and what I have clearly seen throughout the summer is a fervent desire to rewrite the negative perceptions of the school and assure that all of the positive elements of WES shine through. I was hoping to begin that process on Monday, August 27th with WES staff members and then greet all students on the 28th, the first day of the 2018-2019 school year. However, a health issue will prevent me from doing so right away. On Wednesday, August 23rd, I underwent emergency surgery for an intestinal blockage. The surgery went well and I am now out of the hospital but my doctor will not allow me to return to school until after some further rest and recuperation. Once that date is determined, we will certainly let everyone know. Until then, I will rely on the amazing responsiveness and professionalism of the WES and RSU#12 staffs to "carry the ball" until my return.
