Whitefield School will be closed on July 4th. The office will be closing at 11am on 7/5 and closed all day on 7/6.

Good Morning WHES Parents:
Anytime you get involved with new government regulations things can get very confusing. That has certainly been the case this year with our Summer Food Program. At first we thought that we'd be able to deliver to homes throughout the summer, as we had been able to do the past three summers, but then the regulations changed and made that delivery system impossible. That meant that the opportunity to provide supplemental food for any Whitefield family requesting it would be lost. However, through the diligent work of Mike Flynn, RSU #12 School Nutrition Director, we now have an option that I want to share with everyone.
Beginning July 6th, and continuing on Mondays and Thursdays throughout the summer (final pick up date of August 17th), we will have breakfasts and lunches available for pick up here at WHES between the hours of 8:00 - 11:00s A.M. These meal packs will contain either two or three days worth of breakfasts and lunches, including milk, for any families signing up. The food will be available in the school lobby.
The sign up for the Summer Food Program is very simple. You can either email Amy Perkins (aperkins@svrsu.org) or me (mdeblois@svrsu.org) or call the school (549-5251). We will need to know the name of the family & the number of children age 18 or younger for whom you'd like food ready for. Once that is completed, you'll be ready to start picking up supplemental food beginning July 6th.
This is a wonderful opportunity for us to be able to provide food to Whitefield families. Please only sign up if you are fully committed to picking your family's food on the designated days throughout the summer as this will prevent wasting food. If you change your mind at any time during the summer all you need to do is contact the school and you'll be taken off the list. By the same token, should you later realize that you'd like to start picking up this food, a call or email with the proper information will get you added to the pick up list. The deadline for the initial sign up is 12:00 P.M. on Friday, June 30th.
I am very happy to be contacting you all with this new information and hope that many families take advantage of this offer. Should you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact either Amy or me.

to me
Good Morning Everyone:
It saddens me greatly to let you know that WHES will not be able to provide food through the summer food program this summer. The newly established government regulations that we must follow have changed significantly and have created challenges that are insurmountable for us here. Mike Flynn, RSU #12 Food Service Director, has made several appeals to the Department of Education on our behalf but they all proved unsuccessful. I'm very sorry about this development as I have enjoyed being a part of the summer food program for the past several years and was looking forward to it again this summer. However, the new rules and regulations are clear and that has ended our summer program for this year.

Our school Field Day that was originally scheduled for June 8th has been postponed due to the expected weather and soggy conditions of the fields. The new date for Field Day will be June 12th.

The deadline to sign up for the parent luncheon on June 13th was Monday the 5th. We are not accepting any more reservations for the luncheon, however, you are still welcome to come to the awards ceremony and sit with your child when they have lunch while they eat.
