Dear Parents,
This years Fun Run is to raise money for Down Syndrome.
Down syndrome is a condition in which a person has an extra
chromosome.
Down syndrome remains the most common chromosomal condition
diagnosed in the United States. Each year, about 6,000 babies born in the
United States have Down syndrome. This means that Down syndrome
occurs in about 1 in every 700 babies.
Our donations will go toward research studies to better understand the
learning styles of those with Down syndrome. As well as, supporting
programs that significantly improve the lives of people with Down syndrome
through research, medical care, education and advocacy.
Starting the week of October 23rd, please bring in pennies, nickels,
quarters, etc. any money you can spare!!! We will collect money for the
next 3 weeks.
Each homeroom will have a cup to put their money in.
Whichever class has the most money, will win a prize which we will decide
at a later date.
Thank you for your support!!!
